Our Evidence work integrates specialist research methods with a fully integrated mixed mode platform, the ability to integrate data from other sources and innovations in data science and analysis. We are a trusted partner to government and academia on social surveys that must meet the highest evidential standards of official and national statistics including the Crime Survey for England and Wales, the Consumer Price Index and Understanding Society, the largest household panel of its kind in the world.

Our Policy team brings together methodological excellence with deep policy insight to deliver impactful and high-quality work to clients across the policy life cycle. We utilise our policy expertise and our multidisciplinary research skills across quantitative, qualitative and mixed methods, to provide research that is flexible, bespoke and joined up. We provide end to end research from design to reporting; our insights and recommendations are used to develop and support policy decisions across government, the public and the third sectors.

Our Evaluation Practice supports effective evidence-based policy-making to address key societal challenges. We have a track record in the successful design and delivery of large-scale, methodologically challenging evaluations and a wide portfolio of evaluation studies covering a range of policy areas.

Our Behavioural & Communications Practice is a multi-disciplinary team focused on behavioural research and consultancy, and one of the UK Government’s leading behavioural science & communications research partners. We advise clients on the opportunities for behaviour change at all stages in the policy and communications cycle; provide insight into what influences individual and organisational behaviours; design communications, interventions and strategies for driving change; and trial and evaluate campaigns and interventions.

In response to the UK government’s new mission-based approach we are delighted to announce the launch of seven centres of excellence to complement our existing teams and support our clients with the delivery of the government's national priorities.

The final Verian poll (conducted 28th June - 1st July) correctly forecast the outcome of the election and has been independently assessed by academics working in the field as the single most accurate poll. This was largely due to the quality of the sample, sourced from our own social research panel Public Voice. 

This panel is one of very few in the UK that is based on a controlled, random sample of the population. Inferences drawn from Public Voice surveys have stronger claims of validity than inferences drawn from the kinds of stratified convenience sample used by most pollsters.
