Developing workplace skills early and opening opportunities for employment for young people from all backgrounds is crucial for the development of the future workforce.
Verian partners with Migrant Leaders, a development programme for disadvantaged young migrants across the UK, to offer week-long immersion sessions. This work experience introduces students from disadvantaged migrant backgrounds to social research, public policy and data analysis as a career.
Since 2021, Verian has provided five work immersion weeks for a total of 24 Migrant Leader interns in the UK.
Verian UK CEO, Craig Watkins, comments: "We've been working with Migrant Leaders now for five years, and I'm incredibly proud of the relationship that we've built up with the charity.
Working with Migrant Leaders allows us to ensure that we are opening ourselves to all sectors of society; to understand the kind of career that they can have with a social purpose-led company such as Verian".
We informally stay connected with our work experience interns to understand their employment journey and to offer opportunities, like our Graduate Scheme programme.”
