Verian is delighted to announce that we have been nominated for The Research Society’s 2024 Research Awards for research effectiveness in public policy and social impact.

Identifying the contextual shift in gendered disrespect: Phase 5 of the Australian Government’s National Campaign to End Violence Against Women and Children- ‘Stop it at the Start’.

Conducted during 2023 and 2024, our research helped to articulate an emerging problem. Originating in social media, new influences are creating an echo chamber of disrespect, affecting attitudes and behaviour of young people and particularly driving a regression of beliefs among young men in relation to gender equality and violence.

Our work informed an ambitious and ground-breaking national communications intervention, shaping new conversations around gender, disrespect and violence in Australia.

Gavin Bain, CEO of Verian’s APAC region commented:

“Impact thinking - that’s what it’s all about. This nomination is great recognition for our wonderful client and the Verian team who have worked so hard on such an important ongoing project.”

The winners will be announced on 27 November 2024 in Melbourne. Read more about the award contenders on the Research Awards website.
